From ‘being good at math’ to studying engineering is a pretty typical natural progression. But for Niki, over time, that engineering degree provided opportunity to blend her analytical side with her interest in solving human-facing problems with a career in product management. Similarly for Verafin, engineering naturally led a group of friends to develop an algorithm for the mining industry; this algorithm then evolved into a solution for the financial technology industry, which is helping law enforcement identify potential human trafficking organizations.  In this talk, Niki will tell the story of pushing the natural boundaries in career and technology and will connect the dots between how technology can have a positive impact on real, human-facing issues.
